Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to reveal Baywatch's motion poster, inspired by the US holiday, Fourth Of July The Rock / Instagram

As the US celebrated their Independence Day this past Monday, Dwayne Johnson shared in the holiday while also using the opportunity to promote his new film, Baywatch. The actor took to Instagram to wish all of his followers a 'Happy Fourth Of July,' alongside a specially-made motion poster showcasing Alexandro Daddario, Zac Efron and others' characters.

Set against the American flag, the cast can seen in its entirety from Kelly Rohrbach as CJ Parker, Daddario as Summer Quinn, Jon Bass as Ronnie, Johnson as Mitch Buchannon, Priyanka Chopra as Victoria Leeds, Ilfenesh Hadera as Stephanie Holden, and Efron as Matt Brody. Almost all of the actors are wearing the typical uniform of a lifeguard in the artwork, with the exception of Chopra, who is reportedly starring in the film's villainous role.

In true patriotic style, the poster shows the characters holding multi-coloured sparklers, cramming their faces with hot dogs and donning various stars and stripes. Johnson captioned the image: "On May 19th 2017, you will witness these amazing women @kellyrohrbach @alexannadaddario@priyankachopra @ilfenator save lives,@thejonbass steal the show, @zacefron's ripped 28 pack abs and some big, brown, bald tattooed guy just kinda standing around. #Happy4thOfJULY#BaywatchFamily."

Seth Gordon, a well-versed comedy director after his work on Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief, will helm the "big, fun and R-Rated" picture, which will centre around an accomplished former Olympian named Mitch (Johnson) who squabbles with Brody (Efron), the leader of a cocky but superior team of lifeguards. The unlikely pair find themselves reluctantly teaming up to save the beach from environmental destruction at the hands of a ruthless oil tycoon.

Friday The 13th's Damian Shannon and Mark Swift wrote the last draft of the script. Beau Flynn (San Andreas) and Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) will be producing alongside Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions. The movie will reach UK cinemas a little earlier than the date Johnson mentioned, on the 12th.
