A beautician was bombarded with sleazy sex calls after a friend put her details on adult dating sites, a court was told.

Nikki Bains from Ladywood, Birmingham, received up to 40 X-rated calls and texts a day from men hoping to bed her after former best friend Laurie Bridges posted a fake ad featuring images of Bains in lingerie on Adult Friend Finder and Badoo

24-year-old Bains said she endured a week of hell. Many callers simply left the message: "I'm horny - let's meet up."

She could not believe that her former friend was the person who started it all.

"At first I was angry, then I became scared," Bain said. " It was a malicious thing to do to a friend - I think she has a problem. First I thought it was an ex-boyfriend and blamed him.

"I also confronted Laurie about it, but she denied everything. I'm still jumpy every time the phone goes."

According to Bains, things turned sour with Bridges, 37, over an ex-boyfriend.

Bridges is believed to have stolen revealing images from Bains's latop and posting the fake advert online.

"It's identity theft, with pictures taken from my laptop. I was getting between 30 and 40 messages a day from men wanting sex."

Julia Morgan, defending, told Birmingham magistrates that Bridges regretted her actions and accepted that she had gone too far.

Bridges, from Kings Heath, was given a 12-month community order after admitting harassment. She was also ordered to pay £100 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
