Liverpool travel to Besiktas in the second leg of the round of 32 tie of the Europa League on Thursday with a 1-0 lead from the first leg owing to a late penalty from Mario Balotelli.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 8pm GMT. Live coverage of the game will be available on ITV 4 and ITV 4 HD.

Overview

Besiktas will be berating themselves for losing concentration so late into the game against Liverpool at Anfield, which otherwise would have been a brilliant result for them against the Premier League side.

Instead, they find themselves with the prospect of having to score against the Reds at home, something which, given Liverpool's current defensive record, will be a tough ask for the team from Turkey.

Besiktas are down with a series of injuries and suspensions to key players, with Tolga Zengin (knee), defender Ismail Koybasi (knee) and forward Cenk Tosun (foot) all out of contention alongside Ersan Gulum and Ramon Motta who are suspended for the game.

They come into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Eskisehirspor which resulted in them losing their position at the top of the Turkish league.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be favourites to go through to the round of 16 after securing an advantage at Anfield and are likely to field a depleted squad from the one which started against Southampton last weekend, in lieu of the crucial Manchester City clash scheduled for this weekend.

The Reds have an added initiative to win the Europa league, with the winners set to confirm their place in the Champions League, regardless of their league position, something which Brendan Rodgers will be looking at, given the level of competition for the top four.

What Managers Say

Slaven Bilic: "We need goals, but we need to be patient and have to be very composed defensively against Liverpool. Liverpool may seem like they have the advantage, but we have a big chance of advancing into the next round."

Brendan Rodgers: "We've got a few injuries. We're probably out here without eight of our squad who have knocks, some with previous and some who picked up something at the weekend. We still have a squad strong enough to hopefully get the job complete but we've got a few knocks and niggles from the weekend."
