A video showing a passenger on a Birmingham bus abusing and attempting to attack the driver has gone viral. Umar Suleman uploaded the video to YouTube on 16 April, and it has since been viewed more than 11,000 times.

The clip shows an angry passenger hurling abuse at the driver of the 8C bus, after he was asked to show his bus pass for a second time. He then gets extremely angry and starts punching the window that separates the driver and passenger.

The man then threatens the driver, saying, "If I ever see you on the f**king road, you're f**king going under a f**king bus." He also repeatedly calls for the driver to "come outside".

The bus driver then sets off his alarm, which claims that the bus is "under attack". After further shouting, the angry passenger tries to break through the window one more time, before pushing his way off the bus.

A spokesperson for National Express told the Birmingham Mail, "National Express staff have the right to work without fear of assault or intimidation. We will prosecute anybody who does not respect this right. We have reported this incident to West Midlands Police and we will be giving them the bus CCTV footage to help their investigation".

It is thought the footage was filmed on 31 March at about 2.30pm.
