After receiving complaints from a mother about the chilling sight of the Black Eyed Child at Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, paranormal investigator Lee Brickley has launched a detailed investigation into the case.

The unsettling sighting of the ghostly image has been reported ahead of Halloween which is just a month away generating fear among the locals, Paranormalcannock reported.

"Around 2 months ago my daughter and I were walking through Birches Valley (an area well known for it's spectral sightings) when we heard the screams of a young child. I couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl, but they definitely seemed in distress and sounded very close to us, so we instantly started running towards the noise," the mother with the pseudo name Mrs Kelly wrote in her email to Brickley.

"We couldn't find the child anywhere and so stopped to catch our breath, that's when I turned round and saw a girl stood behind me, no more than 10 years old, with her hands over her eyes," continued.

"She then put her arms down by her side and opened her eyes, which is when I saw they were completely black, no iris, no white, nothing. I jumped back and grabbed my daughter, when I looked again, the child was gone," her mail concluded.

Brickley, who runs a website for paranormal investigations, has claimed that nearly 30 years ago the scary child was spotted by one of his relatives at the same spot.

"In the summer of 1982, my auntie was 18 years old. She and her friends would often meet and "chill" (her word, not mine) on Cannock Chase in the evening time" the paranormal investigator wrote in his blog.

According to one of Brickley's Demonic Black-Eyed Children blog, demonic children are the brood of the upper-level evil forces.

Though they appear as normal humans, they are actually the purest forms of evil and extremely dangerous for humans as their power grows stronger when they appear tender aged, the paranormal investigator claims.

Meanwhile, Staffordshire locals have shared their feelings about the news on Twitter. Here are some reactions.
