A man has been bailed after allegedly threatening to kill home secretary Theresa May and former foreign secretary Jack Straw.

Lancashire police arrested the 33-year-old man from Blackburn, where Straw is local MP. The suspect has not been named.

The man, who works for Blackburn with Darwen Council, has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The threats were allegedly made in a phone call to the office of Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry on 18 April.

Both Straw and May are aware of the situation.
