Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 6pm BST. Live coverage of the match will be available on BT Sport Europe.

Overview

Bordeaux come into the fixture after a 2-2 draw in the league at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the last league clash. They have had a mixed start to the new season with two wins and two draws so far.

Willy Sagnol's side have been quite strong in defence as they have conceded only three goals in the last five matches, which include three clean sheets. He will be keen to keep another clean sheet when Bordeaux take on Liverpool.

Liverpool have struggled in the last three matches as they have failed to win the fixtures. Their last two defeats were against West Ham United and Manchester United. The loss at the hands of their arch-rivals at Old Trafford came after a disappointing show.

Brendan Rodgers and his men will be looking to avoid another defeat and start the Europa League campaign on a positive note with a victory. The Reds have been very poor in their defence and attack in the last two matches.

They have conceded six goals and scored three in their last five matches. The former Swansea manager will be hoping to work out his best attack options up front in order to help Liverpool bounce back.

What They Say

Brendan Rodgers: " We need to be a lot technically better than we showed. Over the first five games now creating more goals is something we need to look at. We haven't created anywhere near as much as what I would have liked. That is something I need to look at with the coaches and staff."
