Borussia Dortmund have no intention of selling reported Arsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and have suggested Ilkay Gundogan is edging closer to a contract extension, despite interest from Manchester United.

Aubameyang has just finished his second season at the Westfalenstadion, but German daily Bild reported on Wednesday (26 June) that Arsene Wenger had identified the 26 year old asan ideal addition to his forward options with a €40m (£28.8m) offer being prepared.

Dormund's general manager Michael Zorc has dismissed the Gunners' interest, however, telling the print edition of German publication Kicker: "Aubameyang is a player of Borussia Dortmund and we do not have any plan to sell him. That is a fact."

Zorc however did add there is the real possibility of someone leaving the club next week, claiming: "Still we have players leaving our club this summer. There will be some action in the turn of next week."

Gundogan, 24, had been considered the likeliest departure from the club, having turned down their offer of a contract extension in May. Club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke even went as far as telling Bild the player would be moved on if he was not willing to sign a new deal.

A club linked with Gundogan was Manchester United, with Sky Sports News suggesting the German had held talks with the Premier League side over a £21.5m move.

But it would now appear reconciliation between Dortmund and Gundogan is close.

"We are in good talks at the moment," Zorc continued, ESPN reported, before describing Gundogan as "very transparent and decent".

Earlier in June, Gundogan spoke out on speculation over his future. In a message posted via his Facebook page, the midfielder said he would make a decision after Germany's European Championship qualifier against Gibraltar – which took place on Saturday 13 June – before indicating he could still see out the remainder of his current Dortmund contract.

"Forgotten was this; I have one more year on my contract with Dortmund. What is important to me is that I am not gambling financially or using delaying tactics," he wrote.

"What's next for me personally, I will reveal soon as possible. But only after the season and our important game for the European Championship qualifier with the national team will I decide."
