Anthony Crolla has been named as the last entrant in the next Prizefighter event which takes place on October 6 in Liverpool.

The former British lightweight champion suffered a shock loss to Derry Matthews earlier this year and he could well face the Liverpudlian in the Prizefighter tournament which features eight participants.

Matthews was considered a huge underdog when taking on the Manchester-fighter, but he secured a sixth-round stoppage and was able to earn a shot at the European title.

He was eventually stopped by European champion Gavin Rees but he will see the tournament as the perfect chance to get back in the mix for a British title opportunity as the Welshman is ecpected to vacate the belt.

It is perhaps the strongest line-up to date with another former British champion Gary Sykes also competing, while Terry Needham and Stephen Jennings have been joined by exciting youngsters Liam Patrick Walsh, Kieran Farrell and Nathan Brough.

"Prizefighter is back with a bang with our strongest line-up ever. I never expected a dream line-up like this and Anthony's inclusion is the icing on the cake," revealed promoter Eddie Hearn.

"Ideally we would've loved to have this in a 5,000-seater arena but the fans will experience an atmosphere like never before in the Liverpool Olympia and this is a must see night of boxing on Sky Sports on October 6."

As well as the exciting tournament, boxing fans will also see Rocky Fielding challenge Wayne Reed for the Central Arena super middleweight title in what is a bumper card in Liverpool.

Fielding is a former Prizefighter champion having triumphed back in March 2011 when he became the super middleweight champion by stopping all three of his challengers on way to the title.
