A Houston chemistry teacher was found in possession of recipes for date-rape drugs in her backpack when she was arrested at the Oak Ridge High School on Friday (12 September).

Haivan Bui, 29, was arrested alongside her husband, Chris Alan Hartwell, 33, and charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of aggravated possession of a controlled substance and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Also found in the couple's possession was two ounces of methamphetamine and several ounces of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, which is a compound found in date-rape drugs.

Marijuana, prescription medications and a loaded shotgun were also discovered by investigators.

Residents who lived in the same apartment building as the couple expressed shock.

"I'm shocked. They didn't look like the type of people who would do that," said resident Curneesha Hammonds.

While another Phyllis Hannon added, "Maybe they're trying to be the new Breaking Bad. He was a chemistry teacher on the show, too."

The Conroe ISD released a statement, as reported by Click2Houston News:

"Conroe ISD employee, Haivan Bui, was arrested earlier today by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit on drug-related charges. Ms. Bui was hired in June 2013 to teach science at Oak Ridge High School. The investigation is still ongoing and is actively being investigated at this time."
