A woman was stabbed to death at a home in Brent, north London Getty

Scotland Yard has launched a murder investigation after a woman was stabbed to death in Brent, north London. Police were called at 7.22am on Thursday (29 October) to reports of an incident at a residential address in Ashford Court. Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a woman in her 40s with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased and next of kin have been informed but police await formal identification. A post mortem examination took place on Saturday 31 October at Northwick Park mortuary and gave the cause of death as stab wound to the torso.

A 52-old-man was found at the location with minor injuries and arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a north London hospital where he remains. His injuries are not life threatening. The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
