She has had a fairly successful run on the strip but Britney Spears has hinted that her Las Vegas residency could come to an end. The Toxic singer is nearing the end of her first stint in Sin City and she admits she would love to reignite her acting career.

Since launching in December 2013, the 33-year-old pop star has performed more than 100 shows on her Piece Of Me residency at The Axis in Planet Hollywood. Although she is having a ball reliving her early classics and more recent hits each night, Spears admits it may be time to leave Vegas behind.

The Pretty Girls singer told E! News: "I'm not really sure. I haven't made up my mind. I really love doing the show. It's a lot, a lot of fun but I'm kind of torn right now. I don't really know what I want to do." Spears's music career has been given a huge boost since the start of her residency, which earned her two accolades in April – the best of Las Vegas and best bachelorette party awards.

Perhaps Spears is planning on swapping Sin City for Tinseltown as she admitted it is her number one wish to pursue a movie career, telling the website: "I could dream. I would love to be a movie star." The Womaniser hitmaker has already gotten her foot in the door with her upcoming cameo in the second season of hit comedy series Jane The Virgin. Playing herself, Spears will arrive as the arch nemesis of Rogelio de la Vega's.

Still, if the acting does not work out, Spears has her music to fall back on as the Grammy-winner has revealed she is currently in the studio working on new material. Speaking to E!, she said: "We're having fun right now. I'm working with some women who are amazing writers. I have ballads and, of course, dance music – fun, cheeky, sexy stuff." The news will undoubtedly please fans whose hopes of a new record were dashed when Spears stated her main focus was raising her sons.

The Everytime singer told Billboard in March: "There's a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I'm gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it's not my full priority right now." Spears's residency will come to a close on 31 December with a New Year's Eve show.
