Suyima Torres
Police are treating the death of 28-year-old Suyima Torres as manslaughter.

South Florida police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a mother-of-two who was given butt-enhancing injections from a 'doctor'.

Suyima Torres, 28, passed away in April after forking out for the $2,300 procedure at Cuerpos Health and Aesthetics in Miami.

According to court documents, an oily yellow substance was injected into each of her bum cheeks at the beauty clinic by a man claiming to be a doctor from Venezuela.

Weeks later, Torres underwent a second round of injections but felt dizzy straight after the procedure. She was pronounced dead 10 hours later.

"She was perfect. But she really liked to look pretty all the time. She would go to Walgreens [a US pharmacy] with makeup on," said her sister, Suyenmis Torres.

Although the cause of death is still undetermined, officers are treating it as a homicide, connected to the unlicensed practice of medicine, and have stepped up their investigation of the West Miami-Dade strip mall beauty clinic.

Patient records, medications, and computers have been seized but no charges have been filed in the case.

According to CBS Miami, Ruth Planas, the owner of the now-defunct Cuerpos business, is refusing to provide any information on the so-called doctor from Venezuela.

In March 2011, aspiring British hip hop dancer Claudia Aderotimi died after jetting to America for an illegal butt enhancement operation.

The unlicensed practitioner injected 'industrial' silicone into the backside of the 20-year-old from Hackney, east London.
