Call of Duty Black Ops 3
Users can get rid of the startup intro video in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Activision

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was released for gamers on 6 November and is available on PC platforms. The game displays a startup intro video segment when launched, detailing about the game, which some users thought to be a distraction and unwanted.

Now, with a simple workaround, it is possible to eliminate the introduction on PCs. Follow the steps below to remove the intro:

Step 1: Navigate to the Black Ops 3 folder. Follow this standard path: "C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppsCommonCall of Duty Black Ops 3".

Step 2: Navigate to Video, once in the folder.

Step 3: Initiate a search for "bo3_global_logo_logosequence.mkv". Rename this file.

Step 4: Start the game and only a black screen shows up leading users directly to the game.

The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will also receive the much expected modding and mapping tools, in early 2016. The new features to look-out for post the update include:

  • Manual creation of maps and game modes.
  • Unranked dedicated server files integrated with modding/mapping tools to enable running of servers with modded content at any instant.
  • Unranked server browser for gamers to easily detect and join servers with modded content.
