Hollywood and haute couture continue to make a glamorous combination at Cannes. The 66th Cannes Film Festival moves into its third day and the star attraction was definitely Harry Potter star Emma Watson.
The 23-year-old Watson was born in Paris and looked gorgeous in a black and white Chanel dress; and the young star made a delectable statement with three silver earrings on one ear. She was joined by her Bling Ring cast, including Claire Julien, Taissa Farmiga, Katie Chang, Israel Broussard and the director of the movie, Sofia Coppola.
Julien opted for a custom made blush-coloured strapless Emilio Pucci gown with sheer inserts and an organza train. Farmiga wore a sleeveless black Valentino Fall 2013 gown and Chang dressed in a Christian Dior white silk crepe gown with a black sash which she matched with Dior jewelry.
Bling Ring is inspired by true events and tells the tale of Nicki (Watson) and her friends, who used the Internet to track down celebrities' home addresses and then burgle them. The real-life teens are believed to have raided the homes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Megan Fox and Miranda Kerr between 2008 and 2009.
During the press conference, Watson detailed her experience of transition from Hermione Granger to her character in the Bling Ring.
"It's strange for me," she said, "I feel like Harry Potter is in the past. It is still present, it is still in people's minds. I don't try and deny the work I've done in the past three or four years, my life has been incredible. I love playing these different characters, I'm very lucky."
Indian actress Freida Pinto wore a custom gown by Indian designer Sanchita featuring a side slit and added with Jimmy Choo 'Lance' sandals and a box clutch. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor looked stunning in strapless petal blooming Dolce & Gabbana gown.
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing wore an Elie Saab Couture and finished the look with a silver clutch and Chopard jewels.
