The Cannes Film Festival 2013 finishes its first glamorous week and the red carpet continues to host a stunning array of spectacular gowns and outfits, with actors and actresses from all around the world at the French Riviera.

The seventh day saw the premiere of Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra, with cast members Michael Douglas and Matt Damon walking the red carpet. The two veteran Hollywood leading men stole the spotlight when the video of an intimate romantic scene between the two was released.

Ruairi Robinson's The Last Days of Mars, starring Liev Schreiber, Romola Garai and Olivia Williams, was also screened on the day, as was Sarah Prefers to Run, by French-Canadian Chloe Robichaud. Clair Denis' Bastards and actor-turned director Valeria Bruni Tedeschi's A Castle in Italy were also screened.

The red carpet saw Czech model and television host Petra Němcová dazzle in a fully sequined, champagne-coloured and long-sleeved Emilio Pucci gown. The 33-year-old was there for the premier of Behind the Candelabra and complemented her look with a belt and Chopard jewels.

The Huffington post claimed, perhaps rightfully, that Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone re-created a bit of Las Vegas on the Cannes' red carpet, in a blue and beaded Roberto Cavalli creation with a plunging neck line. The 55-year-old style icon certainly turned heads and the Casino star (perhaps that was her inspiration... the 1995 Martin Scorsese-directed film starring Robert De Niro and Stone) looked a match for actresses much younger than she.

The 66th Cannes Film Festival, which started on 15 May, concludes on Sunday, with the screening of Jerome Salle's Zulu. The crime-thriller stars Pirates of the Caribbean's Orlando Bloom, Oscar-winning Forest Whitaker and Tanya van Graan.
