Manchester United and Leeds United will renew hostilities in the third round of the Carling Cup Tuesday evening.

Hundreds of police officers will be on duty when Leeds play host to Man Utd at a sell-out match at Elland Road.

The meeting between the pair is the first since Jermaine Beckford's goal gave Leeds a 1-0 win over United in their FA Cup third round clash in January 2010.

Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to rest most of the team that beat Chelsea 3-1 Sunday, with Michael Owen in line for his first start of the season alongside youngster Paul Pogba.

Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs are expected to start having missed out against The Blues, while youth prospects Tom Thorpe, Ezekiel Fryers, Larnell Cole and the Keane twins Will and Michael are also included in the squad.

Leeds manager Simon Grayson is without suspended defender Paddy Kisnorbo following his sending off against Bristol City Saturday, but Argentine forward Luciano Becchio is available after being out since April with a hamstring injury.
