Londoners were greeted with a special treat from the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, who brought an interactive slice of the incredible picturesque Cayman Islands to busy central London.

The 3D artwork portrays Stingray City, one of the most iconic locations of Grand Cayman, where visitors can touch, stroke and even kiss the hundreds of friendly rays that gather in the area. According to Cayman folklore, kissing a ray results in seven years good luck and Londoners were all too eager to pucker up as the artwork toured the capital!

The islands, which have a strong connection to water sports and nature, are depicted perfectly in the 3D image, which features the stingrays, divers and coral of the Caribbean Sea. The 3D art toured around London, and those who spot it were invited to take a photo of them kissing a stingray and use the hashtag #CaymanKissed to be in with the chance of winning diving lessons from Oyster Diving, based in central London.

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea, and known world round for wonderful scenery and the kindness of its people. Comprising of three islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, this trio of stunning reef-enclosed islands offer a quality of experience that is hard to beat.

Don McDougall, Regional Manager of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism in the UK commented:

"It's wonderful to see some of the iconic elements of Cayman here in London, against the backdrop of such recognisable views such as Westminster Bridge. Seeing a slice of Cayman in the capital just reiterates the fact that the Cayman Islands have some of the most breath-taking seascapes and marine parks in the world, which is complemented by an abundance of activities; from sunset sailing or diving, to visiting the famous Stingray City.

We want the British public to be able to experience a little bit of Cayman here in London and inspire them to come and see the real thing for themselves."
