Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld claims he would marry his cat, Choupette, if he could. The white kitten is already a household name in the fashion industry, with nearly 30,000 followers on Twitter and a thousand more on Facebook.

Choupette's Twitter page describes her as: "'A famous beauty who refuses to eat on the floor & my maids pamper my every need. I am Choupette Lagerfeld and I am a spoiled pussy."

There are several photographs of Choupette and Lagerfeld on the Twitter page; one shows her with a king prawn cake for her birthday. And Choupette's eyes were reportedly the inspiration for a cornflower blue collection by Lagerfeld.

The German designer reportedly has two personal maids to take care of Choupette. The 77-year-old fashion icon also ensures his maids write down everything the cat does when he is not at home... to ensure he is aware of how she spends her time.

"There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals ... I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat," the fashion guru told CNN last weekend.

The 22-month-old Choupette even has a private jet and free reign over the designer's luxurious Paris home.

Choupette originally belonged to a friend of Lagerfeld's and he adopted her two years ago, at the friend's request.
