Charlie Sheen has been signed up to appear as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, confirms The Independent.

The controversial actor is reported to have been offered a £6million pay cheque to feature on the reality series when it re-launches on Channel 5 later this month.

The Big Brother franchise, dropped by Channel 4 last year, has been picked up byChannel 5and will begin with a celebrity version.

Bosses at Channel 5 are reportedly convinced that Sheen's involvement will make the new series "unmissable" reports Gigwise.

According to a source speaking to the Daily Star, Sheen is being courted to appear:

No-one would want to miss the chance of seeing what he's up to and hear the wacky things he's saying. And let's face it, he's been saying some crazy stuff recently.

Other stars rumoured to appear on the show are boxing legends Mike Tyson and Ricky Hatton, pop twins Jedward, rapper Snoop Dogg,'The Only Way Is Essex' beauty Amy Childs and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.

A Channel 5 spokesperson added: "'Big Brother' execs are in talks with a number of celebrities about appearing on the series but we're not confirming any names at the moment."
