The girlfriend of convicted football rapist Ched Evans has spoken of her willingness to get her "soulmate" out of jail as soon as possible.

Natasha Massey, 23, claimed that the conviction of Evans was not "right". Her Facebook campaign has garnered 3,000 likes.

Massey wrote online: "I am going to fight for Ched. I don't let go of my soulmate that easily. Bring it on."

Her campaign follows alarm over Twitter postings naming the rape victim, which has led to North Wales Police and Sheffield United opening investigations. It is a crime to publicly reveal the name of a rape victim.

Massey has stood by her man since his incarceration. She told a friend: "I am devastated. I just love him so much and I'm staying with him."

Her mother was also quick to back the Sheffield United footballer saying on Twitter: "Absolutely devastated. My love goes to Tash and Ched. He is innocent. This is one of the saddest days of my life."
