Christian Cuevas, the highly-rated Chilean teenager, has revealed he will join Chelsea in the summer.

The O'Higgins midfielder, who has been on the Blues' radar for some time, claims an agreement has been reached between the clubs and himself and that his move to west London becomes official at the end of the season.

"Everything went very quickly and everything was settled this week. Chelsea were following me for over a year and we have finally reached an agreement. I am already taking English classes so I can integrate quickly. It will be a big change. I could account for all the differences there were when I was there. But I am calm and very happy," talkSPORT quoted the 17-year-old.

Cuevas netted twice in the South American Youth Championships in Argentina last month, as Chile finished fourth in the tournament. It is understood Chelsea will pay around £1.7m to secure the services of the Chile U-20 international.

Benitez: Torres Did Well

Meanwhile, Rafael Benitez insists he was satisfied with Fernando Torres' performance in the Blues' 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Spanish striker missed several clear-cut chances and the European champions had to rely on a last-minute solo effort from substitute Eden Hazard to avoid extra time and seal their progress to the last 16.

"He didn't play badly. You can analyse a striker for the number of goals he scores. Maybe you're right. But he did a great job for the team tonight. It's not easy against a team playing deep, but he was winning the ball in the air, bringing options for those around him," Benitez said.

"I thought he was playing well. I disagree he was playing badly. But of course we want him to take the chances that come his way. If he continues working and playing like he did [against Sparta], he will score goals. I'm convinced about that," the former Liverpool boss added.

Torres has scored only once in his last 14 matches; in the FA Cup game against League One side Brentford.

Chelsea will play Romanian outfit Steaua Bucharest in the next round of the Europa League.
