Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester City are in competition to sign Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to the Sun. The Argentine, who is valued at £20mn, has also been linked to Inter Milan and Paris St Germain. However, it is understood Lavezzi prefers a move to England and his representatives have reportedly delayed negotiations with other European teams.

The 27 year old scored twice against Chelsea in his team's 3-1 victory in the Champions League Last 16 first leg match at Naples in February and his form this season seems to have caught the attention of the Champions League finalists and the Premier League champions. Lavezzi has nine goals and five assists from 30 league appearances this season and joined Napoli from Argentinean side San Lorenzo in 2007.

Meanwhile, former England boss Fabio Capello has held talks with Chelsea about becoming their next manager, according to the Mirror. The report says Capello is keen to take charge at Stamford Bridge and sources in Italy have indicated he could join the Blues as soon as next week. The 65 year old is understood to be expecting a three year deal worth around £6mn per season.

Capello and former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez were both approached by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in February, when Andre Villas-Boas was shown the door. However, both managers then refused the offer of a short-term contract. Dutch manager Guus Hiddink, who coached Chelsea briefly in the past, is also being spoken of as another candidate; Hiddink is presently under contract to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Meanwhile, in related news, Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has stated he expects to be fit for Saturday's Champions League final against Chelsea. The Dutchman had been a doubt to face his former club after he was forced to miss Bayern's last two training sessions with a cold. However, Robben is confident about making it to the match squad.

"I had a bit of a cold. I had to be careful not to waste my energy. If I do not have a fever of 40 or 41 degrees, I will be on the pitch," Goal.com quoted the 28 year old as saying.

Bayern are aiming to clinch their fifth Champions League title with a victory on home turf on Saturday.
