Overview

Chelsea's clash against United will see their former manager Jose Mourinho return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since he was sacked from his post at the west London club last December.

The Portuguese tactician was appointed as the Red Devils manager, where he replaced Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford. He will now take his men to his former club and will look for a win this weekend.

Chelsea enter this fixture after registering a comfortable 3-0 victory over Leicester City in the last league tie. Diego Costa opened the scoring early in the match before Eden Hazard and Victor Moses extend the lead in the second half.

Antonio Conte has seen his side win three of the first three league games played at home. The former Juventus manager will be keen to extend that record when his side host the Red Devils on Sunday.

United, on the other hand registered a 4-1 comfortable victory over Fenerbahce in the last fixture, which was in the Europa League. A brace from Paul Pogba and goals from Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard was sufficient for the hosts to seal an easy win over the Turkish side at Old Trafford.

Mourinho saw his side settle for a goalless draw against Liverpool in the league clash at Anfield. He will be hoping to secure three points with his current employers, when he travels to Stamford Bridge.

What managers say

Antonio Conte: "When there are these types of season - very bad, because we finished 10th in the table - it's normal that something remains in the players. In their minds. In their heads. It won't be easy to cancel a bad season like last season."

Jose Mourinho: "I don't think they want to, but even if they want to, they couldn't delete me from Chelsea history. They belong to my history too. No bad feelings."
