Cheryl Cole will no longer perform alongside X Factor judges Gary Barlow in Children In Need Rocks gig this week, due to illness.

The Girls Aloud star has been forced to opt out of the show after being diagnosed with a bad case of pharyngitis.

The 28-year-old singer's has cancelled her comeback live performance at the charity gigs as her has failed to get any better.

According to The Mirror, her spokesperson confirmed that even would be pulling out of the charity event last minute even though she was desperate to perform with Gary Barlow.

Her spokesperson told the newspaper: 'Cheryl Cole has sadly had to pull out of a performance at CIN Rocks this week as she is suffering from pharyngitis.'

The concert which is due to take place this Thursday at the M.E.N. Arena, will be hosted by Fearne Cotton, Chris Moyles and David Tennant and it will be air on BBC One and BBC HD between 8pm and 10pm on the same night.

The Children in Need Rocks gig is organised to raise money for disadvantaged children in the UK. The event will include performances from Michael Buble, Coldplay, Elbow, JLS, Lady Gaga and Snow Patrol amongst many other stars.
