Battered Beijing, is preparing itself for more bad weather with heavy rains and floods forecast from today through to Saturday.

This time though they are taking no chances as precautionary measures have been put in place throughout the city. Following the dreadful floods seen here in which 37 people died.

The Beijing Drainage Group has deployed 1,300 workers and 340 sets of equipment across the city to deal with probable rain-triggered flood and distribute sacks of rice to residents. Moreover, the control centre will monitor the situation around the clock.

According to an official news agency 110 people were killed across the country and another 47 were missing, since floods began to sweep the country last week. In some of the worst rains to hit Beijing in 61 years.
