Once Flip or Flop's seventh season is on air, the future of the show is bleak as the chances of co-hosts and ex-couple Christina and Tarek El Moussa working together again are slim. Amid rumours of the HGTV series being axed all together, a new report claims that the former couple is desperately trying to launch their solo careers.

Multiple reports claimed that both Christina and Tarek have been ramping-up efforts to land the first spinoff series. Apparently, the realtor has even taken the first step in pitching her own show to the home network as well as several other channels.

"She's hell bent on breaking out on her own," a source allegedly told InTouch magazine, dishing about Christina's future plans on TV.

But, the 33-year-old Flip or Flop star may have ruffled a few feathers in the process, as per report, as she sidelined her home network to talk to other TV producers.

Another report claimed that the reality TV star is also desperate to move on in her professional life, which means cutting loose from her ex-husband Tarek.

"She'd like nothing more than to cut loose from Tarek, and she's had a lot of interest from execs," Hollywood Life quoted a source. The original report appearing in OK magazine added about the mother-of-two: "She's got a huge fan base — men like her because she's nice to look at, and women like her because she's a working mom."

Meanwhile, Tarek is leaving no stones unturned to fulfill his reality TV ambitions. The 35-year-old house flipper was rumoured to have pitched his own show about contractor in Southern California earlier. However, his ego issues may have caused some hurdles as the magazine source claims he is not "easy" to work with.

Flip or Flop's future currently hangs by a thread amid the couple's public split, and constant rumours of the show being pulled off air after season 7. In addition, the producers of the home-remodelling series haven't lined-up any new episodes, which cast further doubts on the hopes for a season 8.

"Flip or Flop still is in active production on season 7 of the series. No additional new info to share beyond that statement," a HGTV spokesperson added.
