Robert Pattinson has shed his sparkly vampire look for a more realistic and sophisticated look in his latest movie Cosmopolis.

Pattinson plays the role of Eric Packer, a billionaire from Manhattan, in the movie directed by David Cronenberg which is based on a Don DeLillo novel.

The movie revolves around a 28-year-old, who loses control over the world around him, as he moves around the city in his chauffeur-driven limousine.

The limo remains to be the setting for the movie for a long time as the hero spends most of his time in it, even conducting parties and managing his official duties at the back of it.

As he set out for a haircut, he witnesses several events such as riots in the streets, a presidential motorcade and a funeral procession.

Packer's business empire rests on the value of the Yen and he keeps a continuous track of it sitting in the limo.

The trailer of Cosmopolis shows Cronenberg's lavish use of symbolisms of America's future and intense scenes of sexual encounters that happens inside the limo.

One of the fast moving action sequences of the trailer shows Packer shooting through his palm. He also kicks open a door and pull trigger on the head of a man.

Cosmopolis is expected to bring out the acting prowess of Robert Pattinson as it has all the elements to test his talent - sex, fight and murder.

It will be providing an opportunity to the Twilight fans of Pattinson to witness a different Pattinson who had mesmerised them with his sparkly vampire look.

Other major characters in the movie are played by Samantha Morton, Jay Baruchel, Paul Giamatti and Juliette Binoche.

Cosmopolis is scheduled to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and is expected to hit the theatres by May 2012.
