Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and captain Sergio Ramos have urged president Florentino Perez to snub Manchester United's offer for Angel Di Maria and keep the Argentinian international at the Santiago Bernabeu, reports in Spain claim.

Di Maria has been heavily tipped to leave the Champions League winners in recent months as the player was said to be keen on moving away - especially after World Cup sensation James Rodriguez arrived at the club for around £63m to replace him.

According to the reports, the Real Madrid president is also keen on selling him should any club meet his €65m (£52m) demands – with United reportedly considering matching his valuation to outbid Paris Saint-Germain for his services.

However, Florentino Perez face now a real dilemma as according to Marca both Ronaldo and Ramos –two of the most important players in the dressing room - are trying to block his exit.

Real Madrid supporters also expressed their desire to see Di Maria stay during the Spanish Super Cup first leg final against Atletico Madrid, by greeting the Argentinian with a standing ovation when he came on for Luka Modric in the 77th minute.

Nevertheless, before the game a recent poll by Daily AS revealed that the Real Madrid fans prefer him even to James Rodriguez, as when questioned about who should be in the starting line-up, they picked the Argentinian as their first choice ahead of the Colombian star with 75% of the vote.

Furthermore, manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to be keen on keeping Di Maria as he proved during the game against Atletico Madrid, using him in the second half despite rumours about his exit.

Real Madrid's president has the last word and it looks as though he could replicate the Mesut Ozil chase. Last summer Real Madrid players and supporters also urged him to keep the German international but he instead decided to sell him to Arsenal on deadline day.
