A man in his 60s became the latest cyclist to be killed on London roads - the sixth in only two weeks.

The man was in a collision with a lorry at the junction of Camberwell Road and Albany Road, in south London.

Medical emergency staff spent 40 minutes at the scene trying to save the man's life but he died at 12.37, a police spokesman said.

His death brought to 14 the death toll of cyclists on the streets of the capital, this year.

The driver of the lorry was questioned at the scene but was not arrested.

"The male driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and has not been arrested at this time," said a Scotland Yard spokesman.

"Detectives from the Road Death Investigation Unit have been informed. Enquiries continue."
