Real Sociedad are considering a move to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old, whose contract with his current employers runs out at the end of the season, has spurned an opportunity to sign a new deal. He has been in impressive form, scoring nine goals and registering four assists from 28 league starts.

Ings is attracting interest from the top clubs in the Premier League as Manchester United, their local rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are all in the hunt for signing the striker on a free transfer.

David Moyes took the Sociedad job after being sacked as United manager, just 10 months into his six-year contract. The Scot is set to scupper his former club's summer transfer plan by making an approach for the Burnley star.

The La Liga outfit's manager is a huge admirer of Ings and Sociedad have been constantly linked with a move for the English striker. Moyes even confirmed his side's interest in the striker earlier in February.

A move to any Premier League club will help Burnley get compensation and the fee would be nominal, if the player decides to move abroad.

Ings will be in the thick of a transfer battle as several clubs across England and Europe are interested in his services. The Daily Mail reports that the German club Borussia Monchengladbach are also interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, United legend Gary Neville believes Ings will receive a lot of offers in the summer. The Old Trafford favourite claims the striker's move away from Burnley on a free transfer will be a massive blow to his club.

"I think his touch is fantastic. In the game today, he was a nuisance. He maybe doesn't get the high quality stuff into him that he would probably want, and I would imagine lots of clubs are looking at him," Neville told Sky Sports.

"I saw a story this morning that Burnley want him to stay in this country so they can get some compensation for him. And they probably deserve some compensation for him."

"I think they've been used to that [speculation] around here all season, he's been aware of the situation for a long time, it hasn't just crept up on them," the former United defender added.
