Tottenham were always going to be busy on deadline day, with Harry Redknapp happy to openly discuss a wide range of players the club had been connected to, and so as January 31st hit, the side went into full throttle shoring up their targets.

The day began with more talk over Loic Remy, as Marseille confirmed that Redknapp had made a big money bid for the star, but it was turned down.

Roman Palvyuchenko was strongly linked with an exit from the club, and just before the deadline he finally sealed a move to Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow. Giovani dos Santos was also linked with an exit, but the Mexico international now looks set to stay at White Hart Lane as 11pm passed without a word.

But the big deal for Tottenham would appear to be their swap of sorts of Steven Pienaar to Everton for Louis Saha. Saha has joined the club on an 18 month deal, while Pienaar made the move to the Toffees on a loan until the end of the season.

Redknapp will have been looking to build on his squad in order to keep challenging title leaders Manchester United and Manchester City, and while Saha has scored just twice for Tottenham this season, the Englishman believes that he will refind his spark when he make the move to north London.

And meanwhile, the club have continued their transfer dealings beyond 11pm, with New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen's agency confirming to the Washington Post that the New Zealand international is set to join the club after his contract was terminated by Blackburn by mutual consent.
