Demi Moore
Demi Moore was rushed to hospital after a frantic 911 call by friends. The 49-year-old actress is said to be struggling with mental health issues, along with anorexia and substance abuse, following her split from husband Ashton Kutcher, 33, in November last year amid speculation that he cheated on her. Demi Moore collapsed after inhaling nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, at her LA home on Monday night. Her friends called 911 for help and the call recording has been released by the Los Angeles fire department.

"She smoked something, it's not marijuana but it is similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort," said one of her frantic friends on the 911 call.

It sounded like Moore was smoking K2, a synthetic cannabis drug called Spice. Also known as herbal incense, it is sold over the Internet and in smoke shops and and convenience stores, according to an AP report. Earlier reports said that Moore was doing whip-its, or sucking the nitrous oxide out of whipped cream cans. The caller doesn't identify the drug, but does say so in the recording.

"Demi, can you hear me?" a woman heard at one point, apparently talking to the star. "Yes, she's squeezing her hands," she then tells the operator but adds: "She can't speak."

Towards the end of the call, a male friend reports that "she seems to have calmed down a little," adding: "Now she's breathing fine, she's not convulsing .. she seems calm," as paramedics arrive at the house.

The 911 call was available on TMZ's website with sensitive parts edited out, or beeped out - notably Moore's Beverly Hills address - although initially it posted a version which appeared to be unredacted.

The actress's publicist has previously said Moore suffered from exhaustion. Her split from Kutchner, whom she married in 2005, followed allegations of his affair.

"Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," said a statement issued by her publicist on Tuesday quoted by theTimes.

"She's been having some issues lately with some other stuff, but I don't know what she's been taking .. There's been some stuff recently that we're all just finding out," she added.

Demi Moore was formerly married to actor Bruce Willis for 13 years and they had three daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Belle.
