Meanwhile, his opponent for the final on Sunday, David Ferrer sealed a place for a tie at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy after defeating Rafael Nadal.

Ferrer registered a victory over his compatriot and World No 1 in straight sets. He defeated Nadal 6-3, 7-5.
