The World No 2 registered a place in the final of the BNP Paribas Masters after defeating the former world no 1 Roger Federer. The Serbian lost the first set, but then made a comeback to win the semifinal clash 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Djokovic's victory over Federer has seen him reach his third final in the last three ATP competitions, winning on the previous two occasions in China. Meanwhile, his opponent for the final on Sunday, David Ferrer sealed a place for a tie at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy after defeating Rafael Nadal.
Ferrer registered a victory over his compatriot and World No 1 in straight sets. He defeated Nadal 6-3, 7-5.
Federer has faced Djokovic 15 times, with the Serbian holding a 10-5 lead over his Sunday's opponent. The pair have met in five grand slam fixtures and the World No 2 winning on all five occasions. Djokovic holds a 4-1 lead over Federer in the last five previous meetings between the pair.
