Dr Dre has been filmed being placed in handcuffs by police officers outside his Malibu home following an incident with another motorist. The Straight Outta Compton producer was allegedly racially abused by the other man, who then told police that Dre, real name Andre Young, had pointed a gun at him.

According to TMZ, the male motorist had just exited the Pacific Coast Highway when he parked outside Dr Dre's beachfront property at approximately 11:15am on 25 July. The legendary hip hop producer reportedly asked the man to move his vehicle, to which he complied. However as he did, the motorist allegedly began "cussing"at Dr Dre.

While pulling into his own driveway, the N.W.A. co-founder decided to film the incident on his phone and the motorist is alleged to have said shortly after: "Here we go again, another black guy with a gun."

At that point, the man is said to have called 911 and reported that someone had pulled a gun on him. When the police officers arrived, Dr Dre was handcuffed and searched but eventually released after nothing was found on his person.

It is noted that Dr Dre was given a citation but never formally arrested, but the motorist was keen to make a citizen's arrest and filed a report regarding the incident. According to the publication, the form will now be forwarded onto the District Attorney who will make a decision on whether to press forward with the matter.

Sheriff's captain Chris Reed told the Los Angeles Times about the incident: "Due to the nature of the call, the person was searched, handcuffed, and briefly detained in a patrol car while deputies investigated the incident." Another source also told the publication that the motorist had allegedly followed Dr Dre from a freeway where they were involved in an incident prior to the situation at the musician's home.
