He appeared to be less than impressed when Madonna caught him off guard with a full on French kiss at Coachella, but Drake still thinks he is lucky to have been kissed by an icon.

The hip hop star was headlining the third day of the music festival in Indio, California, when he brought out the 56-year-old singer as a special guest. During the performance of her hit song Express Yourself, Madonna decided to express herself by snogging the 28-year-old rapper.

Although the impromptu PDA and his priceless reaction triggered online mockery and hilarious memes, Drake insists he was not disgusted. Sources close to Rihanna's ex claimed that it was the transfer of Madonna's nude gloss that ruined the Coachella moment.

Drake also jumped on social media in the wake of the backlash.

Posting a snap of the infamous smooch he told his 22.3 million followers: "Don't misinterpret my shock!! I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100 about that forever! Thank you @madonna," he told his 22.3 million followers.

It is not the first time Madge has enjoyed a scandalous on-stage smooch with fellow artist. In 2003, she caused controversy after kissing both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The last time she made headlines on stage was during the 2015 Brit Awards when she fell off a flight of stairs after being dragged down by an extravagant cape. The mother-of-four was performing her song Living For Love at London's O2 arena when a dancer attempted to remove her cape and the heavy costume dragged her down.
