Ubisoft has released new gameplay footage from the latest in their long-running time-hopping franchise, Assassin's Creed. The footage from AC: Syndicate shows a portion of gameplay taking place on top of a moving train - certainly a first for the series.

We see a playthrough of one mission that shows off the new rope launcher ability to help you pursue targets and which ends with a brief introduction of Jacob Frye's sister Evie. The sibling pair will both be playable in the game - with players able to switch between the two outside of missions.

Set in 1868 London during the Industrial Revolution, the game features some fine "cor blimey guv'nor" accents to really hit home that you're in "Landan taan". Blessed with impressive mutton chops, Jacob and sister Evie battle to take control of London back from the villainous Templars. Along the way they'll be aided by historical figures like Charles Darwin and Dickens.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is due for release on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on 23 October with a PC released expected soon after. There will be five editions available, each with exclusive content and two with different Jacob Frye figurines
