Nintendo will be heading into Los Angeles with the same goal they always have: convince people they're a major player. This is despite the fact they already are and likely always will be. In particular this year they need to bolster their 2015 line-up a bit.

Similar to Sony and Uncharted, The Legend of Zelda's delay has left Nintendo's 2015 line-up with a rather large hole in it. So we know Star Fox and Mario Maker are set for this year, and will be big parts of their show – but will they have something else up their sleeve? A new Animal Crossing or Paper Mario for example.

The 3DS needs love too after a fairly lacklustre 2014 run of games that paled in comparison to the handheld's illustrious 2013 offering. With Metroid Prime developers Retro Studios and Luigi's Mansion 2 devs Next Level Games seemingly ready to reveal new games – one of those could well be for the handheld.

Nintendo's E3 press conference takes place at 5:00PM BST on Tuesday 16 June. It can be watched via Nintendo's official stream, on Twitch or on YouTube. We have embedded the Twitch stream below.
