Guerrilla Games has released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming open-world action adventure Horizon: Zero Dawn at Sony's E3 2016 conference, giving fans a detailed look of its gorgeous post-apocalyptic setting, gaming mechanics and, of course, its robotic wildlife. Developed by the award-winning team behind the Killzone franchise, the PS4 exclusive will see young huntress and archer Aloy undertaking an emotional journey as she ventures across a massive world inhabited by towering mechanized dinosaurs.

The eight-minute-long footage shows off some of the various tools, skills and strategies players can expect to use, including an explosive slingshot, electrically charged arrows and a powerful bow to take down bigger targets and enemies as she traverses across the world. It also shows Aloy domesticating and mounting a wounded robot creature to make her way through the map and fight against monstrous bosses.

"Take on the role of skilled hunter Aloy as you explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanised creatures," reads the video description. "Embark on a compelling, emotional journey and unravel mysteries of tribal societies, ancient artefacts and advanced technologies that will determine the fate of this planet, and of life itself."

It also shows some of Aloy's crafting skills as well where you can use parts of a defeated beast to make new tools and weaponry.

"In this demo, we follow Aloy as she journeys beyond the walls of her village to defeat a 'demon' which is terrorising locals and breeding fear throughout the valley," Guerrilla community manager Jeroen Roding wrote in a PlayStation blog post. "Aloy will have to use every ounce of her knowledge, intelligence and agility to survive this encounter."

Horizon: Zero Dawn is slated to release on 28 February, 2017 after being delayed from its initial release window later this year.
