British singer Ed Sheeran gave a newlywed couple the biggest surprise on their wedding day when he performed his romantic ballad Thinking Out Loud during their first dance.
Organised by Australian KIIS FM radio hosts, Kyle and Jackie O, the 24-year-old made his surprise appearance at the wedding reception of Kya and Matt Debono this week in Sydney.
In a photo shared by a guest on Instagram, the Sing hitmaker can be seen holding his guitar on stage where he belted out his recent number one hit, according to The Mirror.
Sheeran also shared a photo of himself with the happy couple and two small children, joking in the caption that he's available to hire for parties through "local super markets".
Debono and Kya were forced to push back their wedding day a few years ago when her mother died and they had to use their savings to pay for the funeral. The radio hosts stepped in to help plan their special day after Debono phoned into their show, explaining their plight.
According to Australia's Daily Telegraph, the dream wedding, which was also organised by Sydney Bridal Expo, had cost $80,000. Speaking to the newspaper, Kya said: "It's a dream. There were lots of tears." Debono added: "I'm really glad you've had such a great day and I'm so glad I chose the right song."
The A-Team singer is said to have cheekily told the couple to "make lots of babies" after his performance.
Sheeran is currently touring down under to support his latest award-winning album, x, and it appears the crooner has fully embraced Australian culture as it has been confirmed that the he will make a cameo in daytime soap Home and Away.
Channel 5 said in a statement: "He will appear as himself in the series. But storyline details about what brings Ed to Summer Bay are being kept under wraps for now."
