Chelsea star Eden Hazard has claimed the summer signings of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas and as well Nemana Matic's impressive work in the middle of the park have been key in his own development and successful campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international forward has been the standout player for the Premier League Champions this season, scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions, while picking up all the Chelsea player of the Year award, the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year and the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association.

The 24-year-old expressed his delight about the personal prizes but admitting the impact of the arrivals of Costa and Fabregas as well as Matic's job to cover his back have made his job easier during the last season.

"Yes, of course. When you play with big players you feel better. I also think Nemanja is very important for the team. I know when I play with him I can focus more on the attacking part of my game because he is always behind me. If I can't get back at a certain time, he is there to cover," Hazard said to the club official website.

"With Diego, you know you don't always need to get so far forward because he is always there; you just have to try to create something for him.

"Cesc is the same, you just have to connect with him when he has the ball, so it's always good to play with big players. We have a lot of big players in our team."

Hazard has made impressive progress at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Lille in summer 2012.

But at only 24 he believes there is much room of improvement both for him and for Jose Mourinho's side.

"It's been a great season; we won two trophies and I won four individual awards, which isn't the most important thing, but it's always good when you can make a big contribution to the team winning trophies.

"I'm very proud, I had a very good season and hopefully next year will be even better. When the season started my main aim was to win the Premier League or Champions League. I always say the individual awards aren't as important, but I received a few this season so of course I'm very happy."
