Twenty years ago in 1997, the talk show host came out as a lesbian and started dating De Rossi in 2004 and got married after four years soon after the state of California lifted the ban on same sex marriages.

In a recent interview with The Good Housekeeping, the multiple Daytime Emmy winning entertainer revealed that she has love as her highest priority and makes it a point to have the dinner together with her actress wife every single night since their wedding. "Portia understands me completely," she told the magazine. "In our vows, she recited a quote — 'It is good to be loved. It is profound to be understood' — and to me, that's everything. What 'I love you' really means is 'I understand you,' and she loves me for everything that I am. She supports me and makes me happy."

The couple has a tradition of sky-writing their anniversary year and this time also fans are expecting the same-sex couple to share their precious moment with them.

In a separate post, singer Joshua Radin recalled their sweet wedding where he performed and wished the duo a happy anniversary. "Nine years ago today, these two incredible women got married and asked me to sing some of my songs to them while they were celebrating their most special day. It's still one of the most fun things I've ever done. Happy anniversary," he wrote.
