Eminem has been linked to a new battle rap movie, Bodied. However, unlike his role in 2002's semi-autobiographical 8 Mile, the Lose Yourself hitmaker will remain behind the scenes as the film's producer. Music video director Joseph Kahn will co-produce the project alongside directing it.

Based on a script by Kahn and rap battle champion Alex "Kid Twist" Larsen, Bodied is a satirical take on battle-rap and race relations in the US.

"A progressive graduate student finds success and sparks outrage when his interest in battle rap as a thesis subject becomes a competitive obsession," IMDb explains of the plot.

The film stars Anthony Michael Hall, Debra Wilson, Charlamagne tha God and Calum Worthy and will also feature appearances by Loaded Lux, Disaster, Dumbfounded, and Hollow Da Don.

Bodied will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Most recently, Eminem featured in HBO's The Defiant Ones documentary series, which traced the path-breaking careers of Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine. In June, the Oxford dictionary also adopted the word 'Stan' based on his 2000 hit featuring Dido, about an obsessed fan.

"An overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity – 'he has millions of Stans who are obsessed with him and call him a rap god," the dictionary's definition explains.

Late last month, the Oscar award-winning artiste also broke the record for his album Curtain Call: The Hits, which according to reports, has become the longest-charting rap album of all time after spending 350 weeks on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
