Emma Watson has reportedly fallen for Oxford University student Matthew Janney.

Months after splitting from her long-time love William Adamowicz, Emma Watson has reportedly fallen under the spell of a hunky university rugby star.

According to reports, Oxford University student Matthew Janney, a star player in last month's grudge Varsity win against bitter rivals Cambridge, is said to be helping the Harry Potter star mend her broken heart.

Although the couple have agreed to take things slowly, sources say that they get on like a house on fire.

"It's early days but they're very much in to each other. Matt's a real hit with the girls but he may have finally met his match," an insider told the Mirror.

"She doesn't suffer fools gladly. But Matt's a lovely guy, charismatic and intelligent. They make a great couple."

Earlier in January, it emerged that Watson, who rose to fame playing spunky Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, had split with millionaire's son Adamowicz in the summer. The couple started dating after meeting while studying at Oxford in 2011.

It seems that Watson may have tamed her new suitor, who was known as a bit of a ladies man before their whirlwind romance. His pulling success led to a friend including ''#anothernotchonthebedpost'' alongside a message to him on Twitter.

Watson,23, is currently studying English at Brown University in Providence, after taking a break from acting to focus on her education.

Her spokesman said: "We do not comment on speculation regarding our clients' private lives."
