Overview

Australia sealed their place in the finals of the tri-series and the other finalist will be decided on Friday. The last game between the hosts and India was called off due to bad weather, which resulted in both teams being awarded two points each.

Before the start of the fifth ODI, England and India were separated by five points and the gap has now reduced to three points. The rain earlier this week have kept India's hope of making it to the final, which means they just need to win the tie against England on Friday.

A victory for either side will help them make it to the finals, where they will face Australia in Perth on Sunday. Both India and England will be hoping for a win in order to make it to the finals.

This will be the last series before the World Cup kick starts next month and a series victory will only give a morale boost for the upcoming tournament. India will miss Rohit Sharma for Friday's fixture due to injury and he is likely to be replaced by Ajinkya Rahane.
