Miss USA 2013: Miss Connecticut Erin Brady Wins the Title[PHOTOS]

Erin Brady, Miss Connecticut contestant, was crowned the Miss USA 2013 winner at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The 25-year-old who hails from East Hampton, works as a financial accountant and earned a finance degree at Central Connecticut State University, where she minored in criminal justice.

Brady, who struggled with alcoholism in her family, said she will be committed to fighting drug and alcohol abuse.

"I grew up in a family influenced by that and I think it's really important to help the children of families that are suffering from those problems," she told The Associated Press.

Along with the crown, Brady will stay at a New York apartment for one year, and expected to spend her title reign on a nationwide speaking tour and raising breast and ovarian cancer awareness.

Brady will represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, Russia, on 9 November.

Meanwhile, Miss Alabama USA, Mary Margaret McCord, was the first runner-up. She will take up the duties of Brady, if she is named Miss Universe 2013, as Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo did, or if for some reason she cannot fulfill her duties. Second runner-up was Miss Illinois USA, Stacie Juris.

The show was hosted by E! presenter Giuliana Rancic and Jonas Brothers member Nick Jonas. The evening's entertainment also included performance by The Jonas Brothers and DJ Pauly D.
