An escort shot a man twice in the head because he was performing oral sex "wrong", according to police in Washington State.

Snohomish County prosecutors say 21-year-old Marissa Wallen shot a man in his own home, in North Everett, then stole his wallet before running away.

According to a probable cause document, Wallen admitted shooting her client in the back of the head while they were engaged in sexual activity "because he was performing (oral sex) wrong".

She allegedly "did not know how to tell the man" that he was performing the sex act wrong, reported MyEverettNews and "she fired a second shot that struck him in the side of the face".

Incredibly, the 36-year-old man survived the shooting with police finding him sitting against a wall, covered in blood and unable to speak, reported The Herald.

The Skagit County woman has been held for first degree assault, first degree robbery and identity theft in the first degree.

Details of the shooting were revealed after she made her first court appearance via video camera on Wednesday (8 November).

Police were called to the property three days after the alleged shooting when his boss told authorities that he had failed to log on for his online job.

It is alleged that Wallen used the man's card to go on a $12,000 (£9,134) spending spree while he lay almost dying in his own home, with two bullets in his head.

CCTV suggests that she had visited five times in October and on the last time she ran out the door clutching what appeared to be credit cards, according to the probable cause statement.

When the man was taken to hospital he revealed he knew who shot him using gestures, as he is not able to speak just yet.

Court documents say the victim: "Had been hiring female escorts and frequenting a strip club in Seattle, where he was bragging about how much money he earned and belongings he had at his house."

Wallen had warrants out for her arrest and a long string of failures to appear. Her bail has been set at $1m.
