France will look to get their Euro 2016 campaign underway with a win against Romania at the Stade de France in Paris on 10 June.

Les Bleus have an excellent record at tournaments they have hosted, winning both the 1984 European Championships and the 1998 World Cup on home soil. And they have been in excellent form of late, losing only one of their last 10 friendlies – a run that has included wins over Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands.

The hosts are backed at 4/11 by Betfair to make a winning start to the tournament.

After a run of three games without a win, Romania bounced back by beating Georgia 5-1 in a friendly on 3 June. Anghel Iordanescu's side were one of only four teams to remain unbeaten in qualifying and are 11/1 outsiders to pull off an upset. A draw is priced at 4/1.

France and Romania faced each other on the same day 20 years ago in Euro 1996 at St James's Park, with Les Bleus winning that encounter 1-0. A repeat of the same score line at the Stade de France is placed at 6/1.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is 9/2 to score the first goal of the tournament, with in-form Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann placed at 5/1.
