The Mercedes dominance continues at the penultimate race of the season with Nico Rosberg leading Lewis Hamilton in both the practice sessions.

However, with rain predicted on Saturday, qualifying could throw up some surprises. As it was at the US Grand Prix, the grid will have only 18 cars due to the withdrawal of Marussia and Caterham, and thus the qualifying format remains the same, with four cars being eliminated in each of the sessions (Q1 & Q2) and the final ten cars lining up for the shootout in Q3.

Where to Watch Live

The third free practice begins at 1pm GMT on Saturday, while the qualifying session starts at 4pm GMT. Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports F1 HD will provide live coverage of both events in the UK.

Real-time internet updates are available on the Live Timing section of the sport's official website.

Practice Review

It was a familiar sight at Interlagos. As we have seen in most races this season, the Mercedes cars led the way, in what was a stop-start second practice session peppered with multiple red flag incidents.

The German driver will be keen to bring his teammate's winning run to an end and make up some ground in the Drivers' Championship.

The Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen was the closest to the Mercedes pair, with Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas rounding off the top five.

Fernando Alonso suffered an engine failure during the second session, but still managed to post the seventh fastest time.

McLaren driver Jenson Button had a wretched afternoon, after he managed just one lap in FP1 due to ERS issues and struggled for pace in FP2 to finish at the 16th place, while his teammate Kevin Magnussen finished in the top 10.
