If you're the sort of person who wishes it could be Christmas everyday, then this job could be the right in your wheelhouse.

Restaurant chain Toby Carvery is looking for an "official mystery Christmas dinner diner" to eat slap-up meals at as many of its 170 UK outlets as possible before giving them the thumbs up or down back at head office.

The business says it wants to recruit "a passionate Christmas dinner lover" whose job it will then be to eat their way through the chain's festive food and drinks menu before supplying feedback.

As the job ad posted on LinkedIn by parent company Mitchells & Butlers makes clear: "We want them to visit as many different Tobys, as many times as they want".

The new recruit will have to munch their way through the firm's Peppered Orange Melon & Cured Ham, British Roast Turkey, Duo of British Cheese Platter and Christmas Chocolate Sundae, all washed down with Prosecco or Champagne.

The firm requires that the right candidate has "well-honed taste buds", is a "strong team player" and presumably has access to a bottle of Gaviscon.

The post is unpaid, but you can eat as many Christmas breakfasts and dinners as you want until the end of the job on 31 December.

Those you think this is the job they have been waiting for should write a 25-word post on LinkedIn telling the group why you should get the job. The closing date for all applications is on 8 December at a minute before midnight.
